The bus stop ( Qualcomm )

Did you ever think taking the bus was boring? 
Well these people were thinking the same. Next time there could happen something like this.

Qualcomm is active in about 157 countries and was the first to develop a CDMA network. The  main business of Qualcomm is producing chips and especially mobile chipsets. Qualcomm is a technology company which works in several industries but in this commercial they want to promote their new mobile chips. They want to surprise people while something ordinary was taking place, like waiting on a bus. They wanted to show that life is much better with mobile.

So they bought out the ad space on a bus stop and designed a poster with URL and a slogan that would excite.

People were driven to go to a mobile site on their smartphone (possibly driven by a Qualcomm chip ). They visited the site and got surprised of what they saw next.

It was not the normal bus that stopped at the bus station but a Lamborghini / dog sled/ a circus bus  / … People were surprised by special transportation vehicles that would bring them to their destination.

In a few days they got almost 2 millions views, sounds like a good viral campaign.

Qualcomm is also known of his original keynotes on introducing new products. On the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last year they surprised friends and enemies with their outstanding and original keynote. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer was a guest; even Big Bird of Sesame Street took a visit.

Qualcomm is a company with great original campaigns and keynotes; I would like to see more of them!
